Summer 2015

It’s been a busy summer, and it’s not even over yet!  We’re up to our ears in zucchini, beans, cucumbers, basil, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, garlic, berries, onions, and so much more!  When we’re not harvesting, we’re keeping up with weeding and other maintenance around the farm, preparing for markets (SunTrio does 6 markets every week!) and planting up for the next round of veggies.  Right now we’re planting fall and winter veggies – carrots, beets, leeks, parsnip, rutabaga, kohlrabi, and so much more.

We’ve just started harvesting melons (multiple varieties of watermelon, honeydew, and cantaloupe!)  Come see us at one of the farmer’s markets to try a sample and decide which one you like best.  We’ll be more than happy to talk about our favourites too!

Next to come into season will be winter squash – spaghetti, acorn, delicata, pumpkins, and more.  We’ll be hauling them in from the field in about 3 weeks, and selling them through the end of summer and into the fall.

Blueberries are slowing down but aren’t gone yet, and strawberries and raspberries are still going strong!  We expect to have berries right into September.

Keep checking in with us at markets to see what’s in season, and find us on Facebook for more farm updates and photos of what we’ve been up to!
